For time immemorial, Echuya Adjacent Communities have been harvesting and using bamboos for local consumption. This traditional utilization of bamboos, unfortunately, often resulted in much wastage of the bamboos harvested.

Bamboo Value addition being cost effective

With the CORB project communities are being trained to utilize the harvested bamboos more efficiently and for commercial value. Communities are being trained to make more products from very few harvested bamboos. In the near future, we hope more bamboo products will be locally produced efficiently, cost effectively and profitably. This will help communities to be economically empowered yet more ecofriendly
